Bury the Loading Bay, Not Neutral Bay Village!

Updated: May 25, 2020

The communities' entry into Neutral Bay Village often includes having to navigate the conflict of delivery trucks blocking Grosvenor Lane with their double-parked delivery trucks waiting to access the loading bay.

Council's proposal is to relocate the loading bay into what is a quiet pedestrian-friendly boulevard in Waters Lane which is home to small businesses such as Charcoal Charlies.

To achieve this they propose closing the lane to public cars at the same time. Based on their plan to put their supermarket underground this means their loading bay will be above the supermarket.

The best practice is to relocate the loading bay and access underground and under the supermarket to keep it out of sight, quiet, and keep the public safe. Council's proposal for the future relocation of the loading bay and access moves a significant problem to a quiet boulevard.
